A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Dungeoneer

Dungeoneer is a rouge-like, RPG, souls-like maybe future MMO game.

Taking big inspiration from Dark Souls, Runescape, Hypixels Skyblock, Metin 2 and Enter The Gungeon.

The game is split into 2 main parts.

1. The Town/Hub

Here the player can shop for items, accept quests, upgrade their gear and many other things. The town also has the entrance to the main part of the game which is the dungeons.

2. The Dungeons

There are multiple dungeons each with their own theme. All the dungeons are also separated into a few floors (currently not decided how many). Each time you enter a floor it is randomly generated. Floors slowly get more difficult having harder and harder enemies, floors also have bosses at the end. After finishing a floor the player is graded on how well they did ranging from F-S+.

Gameplay

Having a top-down view you move using WASD and attack with left and right click. You can currently equip a main weapon and a main ability(might be changed). The gameplay revolves around waves of enemies spawning everytime you enter a room, after killing them all the doors open and the player can go into other rooms. The bosses will have some resemblance of bullet hell where you can utilize the roll mechanic that gives you a burst of speed and makes you invincible for a few frames. There is a classless system meaning any player can quickly switch out their gear from lets say more tanky to more damage oriented. With a big variety of weapons and armors players can form combinations that work well together.

Quick Tutorial

If you walk upwards from the spawn you will run into a big door if you press "F" near it you will be able to enter the dungeon.

Please keep in mind that the game is very early in development and a lot of things are subject to change also most of the textures are place holders.

hey, i dont know if it is a me issue but most of the armor shop is free

Yeah I didnt add prices to some items yet dont worry about it.

This is a good base to work from. The movement and attacking feel good so far. There are a few things I didn't see mentioned here, so I'll bring them up (am running the linux version).

1. I didn't find any 'abilities' to buy in town.

2. I don't understand what the artifacts do - they get listed onscreen when I enter dungeon, change floor but I can't see them in the inventory any more after that. I also can't equip them manually in town.

3. Melee enemies (not the boss, but skeleton and zombie) cannot seem to damage me, even if I bump them over and over or stand still.

4. I found quest givers, but quest button does nothing.

5. Settings button does nothing. Not sure how to see character stats, for example.

6. Partial controller support. Can move with analog, but nothing else.

Best of luck with the project, and thank you for providing 'nix build!

Thanks for the comment I really appreciate the feedback, just gonna address some of the points.
1. Abilities havent been implemented yet Im considering removing them entirely and having specific weapons have their own special effects/abilities.
2.  Artifacts arent equippable  right now(they might be in the future depending on how balanced they are) they just stay in your inventory and give you additional stats.
Also I dont know if its obvious enough but you can change inventory types at the bottom of your inventory,  theres a different inventory for each item type like Armor, Weapons, Artifacts ect. . I did this to reduce clutter but Ive been told it is a bit dumb so that might get changed.
3. Yes melee enemies dont attack you properly Im gonna try and fix that soon idk why its happening yet.
4. Quests dont  do anything yet unfortunately.
5.  Sorry about the settings button its just kind of a place holder rn havent gotten to making settings yet.
6.  Im focusing on making the game mainly for kbm but might add controller support later if you are interested.
Thanks again for the feedback.
